Njord was the god of the sea and the wind in Norse mythology. He came from Vanaheim and was a part of the Vanir clan. Njord was considered the Patriarch of the Vanir clan and led them in a war against Aesir. Eventually, Njord was captured by the Aesir and taken hostage by this elite tribe of gods.
